A care home in Hammersmith is inviting local people to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.
On Saturday 21st April, from 11.30am-4.30pm, the team at St Vincentís care home on Queen Caroline Street will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
St Vincentís has organised a Commonwealth themed party to celebrate the open day, with homemade bunting, inspired by countries from around the Commonwealth, decorating the home. Visitors can look forward to a chair-exercise session, live music, and a special visit from St Johnís School. Guests will be able to enjoy a variety of delicious dishes from around the globe, inspired by countries from the Commonwealth.
Michelle di Bella, home manager at St Vincentís, said: ďCare Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents by building lasting relationships with the local community that spans the generations.
ďResidents have enjoyed taking inspiration from countries across the Commonwealth and creating bunting ready to decorate the home on Care Home Open Day. We cannot wait to open our doors to showcase the residentsí homemade decorations and everything that St Vincentís has to offer. We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Hammersmith.Ē
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at St Vincentís will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UKís guide, A helping hand.
